Shipping Policy

Controls 4 Sale ships from our warehouse at 130 Lenox Ave, Stamford, CT 06906. All shipments are FOB Origin — title and risk of loss transfer to the buyer when the shipment leaves our warehouse.

How we ship

We use two shipping methods depending on the weight of your order.

Items under 40 lb — USPS (rates calculated at checkout)

Smaller items ship via USPS. You'll see live rates at checkout based on your zip code, package weight, and chosen service (Priority Mail, Ground Advantage, etc.). Pay at checkout, ship same day, done.

In-stock items ordered before 2:00 PM ET ship the same business day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM ET or on weekends ship the next business day.

Typical transit time: 2–5 business days within the continental US.

Items over 40 lb — LTL Freight (quoted within 15 minutes)

Heavier items — enclosures, transformers, bulk wire duct, bigger component orders — ship by LTL freight on a standard 40×48 skid through our carrier, Estes Express. LTL rates depend on distance, weight, freight class, and accessorial services, so we quote every freight order manually to give you an accurate cost.

Here's how it works:

Place your order normally. At checkout, freight orders show a $50 placeholder for shipping — this is not the real cost.
Your card is authorized but not charged at checkout.
Within 15 minutes, we pull a live quote from Estes and text or email you the exact freight cost to your destination.
Once you approve the total, we update your order and capture payment for the correct amount.
In-stock freight orders approved before 2:00 PM ET ship the next business day.

Typical transit time: 3–10 business days within the continental US, depending on distance from Stamford, CT.

Out-of-stock items

If any item on your order is not in stock, lead time is 6–8 weeks from the order date. We'll notify you at order confirmation if anything is backordered so you know what to expect. You can choose to:

Wait for the full order to ship together
Split the shipment — ship what's in stock now, backorder the rest (freight charged separately on each shipment)

Accessorial services (freight only)

If your delivery location requires any of the following, Estes charges extra and we pass those fees through to you. We'll include any applicable accessorials in the quote we send you:

Liftgate service — if you don't have a loading dock or forklift
Residential delivery — deliveries to homes
Inside delivery — delivery beyond the curb
Limited access — schools, job sites, military bases, farms, construction sites
Appointment / notification — if you need to be called before delivery
Redelivery — if no one is available to receive the shipment on the first attempt

If you're not sure which accessorials you need, tell us when you place the order and we'll include them in the quote.

Where we ship

We ship throughout the continental United States. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or internationally. If you need shipment to one of these destinations, contact us directly and we'll work out a custom quote.

Shipping to PO Boxes

USPS orders can ship to PO Boxes. LTL freight cannot — freight requires a physical address with truck access.

Title, risk of loss, and damage claims

All shipments are FOB Origin (Stamford, CT). Title and risk of loss transfer to the buyer when the shipment is picked up by the carrier at our warehouse. Controls 4 Sale is not responsible for loss, damage, or delay in transit.

If your shipment arrives damaged:

Note the damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. This is critical — unnoted damage cannot be claimed.
Take photos of the damage (box, pallet, and contents).
Contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can help you file a claim with the carrier.
