Shipping policy

Controls 4 Sale ships from our warehouse at 130 Lenox Ave, Stamford, CT 06906. All shipments are FOB Stamford — title and risk of loss transfer to the buyer when the shipment leaves our warehouse.

How we ship

We use two shipping methods depending on the weight of your order.

Items under 70 lb — USPS (rates calculated at checkout)

Smaller items ship via USPS. You'll see live rates at checkout based on your zip code, package weight, and chosen service (Priority Mail, Ground Advantage, etc.). Pay at checkout, ship same day, done.

In-stock items ordered before 2:00 PM ET ship the same business day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM ET or on weekends ship the next business day.

Typical transit time: 2–5 business days within the continental US.

Items 70 lb and over — LTL Freight ($300 flat cap)

Heavier items — enclosures, transformers, bulk wire duct, bigger component orders — ship by LTL freight on a standard 40×48×50" skid through our freight carrier.

You pay a flat $300 maximum for freight, no matter what.

Here's how it works:

  1. Place your order normally. At checkout, freight orders show $300 for shipping.
  2. Your card is authorized but not charged at checkout.
  3. Within 15 minutes, we pull a live quote from our carrier and email you the actual freight cost.
  4. If the real freight cost is less than $300, we update your order down and only charge you the real amount.
  5. If the real freight cost is more than $300, we absorb the difference — you still only pay $300.
  6. Once you approve the total, we capture payment and ship.

In-stock freight orders approved before 2:00 PM ET ship the next business day.

Typical transit time: 3–10 business days within the continental US, depending on distance from Stamford, CT. On longer routes or during carrier delays, transit can exceed 10 business days — if we see a delay on your shipment, we'll reach out with an updated ETA.

Out-of-stock items

If any item on your order is not in stock, lead time is 6–8 weeks from the order date. We'll notify you at order confirmation if anything is backordered so you know what to expect. You can choose to:

  • Wait for the full order to ship together
  • Split the shipment — ship what's in stock now, backorder the rest (freight charged separately on each shipment, up to the $300 cap per shipment)

Accessorial services (freight only)

The $300 flat cap covers standard dock-to-dock freight delivery. If your delivery location requires any of the following, the fees apply in addition to the $300 freight:

  • Liftgate service — if you don't have a loading dock or forklift
  • Residential delivery — deliveries to homes
  • Inside delivery — delivery beyond the curb
  • Limited access — schools, job sites, military bases, farms, construction sites
  • Appointment / notification — if you need to be called before delivery
  • Redelivery — if no one is available to receive the shipment on the first attempt

We ask about liftgate and residential/commercial on the cart page before you check out, so accessorials are known up front and included in your quote.

Where we ship

We ship throughout the continental United States. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or internationally. If you need shipment to one of these destinations, contact us directly and we'll work out a custom quote.

Shipping to PO Boxes

USPS orders can ship to PO Boxes. LTL freight cannot — freight requires a physical address with truck access.

Title, risk of loss, and damage claims

All shipments are FOB Stamford. Title and risk of loss transfer to the buyer when the shipment is picked up by the carrier at our warehouse. Controls 4 Sale is not responsible for loss, damage, or delay in transit.

If your shipment arrives damaged:

  1. Note the damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. This is critical — unnoted damage cannot be claimed.
  2. Take photos of the damage (box, pallet, and contents).
  3. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can help you file a claim with the carrier.
